Week in Review 5/17/13

Welcome First Day of Summer "Vacation!"

Yes, Vacation is in quotes.  Thursday we finished our required 180th day but there's still so much learning to be done!  So much learning to be finished.  Learning yet to be discovered!  So, how did we spend the last week of official school?

In My Life...
I seem to be spending a lot of time cleaning lately.  It feels great to get my dining room ~ aka, the school room! ~ back.  I do put many things away over the summer just so I am not constantly reminded that I wear the teacher, principal, nurse, psychologist and janitor hat!  Sometimes its just nice to be mom!  I'm debating on whether or not to take the postcard map down.  We don't have postcards from all 50 states yet, so I may leave this one last reminder of academia up.
Also in my life I have been continuing to pack for Africa.  How much is enough? How much is too much?  Only 17 days 'till we leave!

Spending time in the garden is soooooo enjoyable...
The only things we have left to plant are the sunflowers and pumpkins.

The strawberries are blooming like crazy!  The little bees are just humming all around them!

In Caleb's Life This Week...
Caleb's baseball season has begun!  I do enjoy evenings at the ball park, watching Caleb give his best, talking to the other moms and eating fun ball park foods but sitting on hard metal bleachers for hours at a time...not so much! :O)

In Josh's Life This Week...
With school finishing sooner and sooner each day, what else would Josh do with his time but LEGOs!
What started as a small ship turned into a week long project!  Good thing the bathtub is too small for this battleship!  ('Cause you know where he would try to float it if he could!)

In Carolyn's Life This Week...
Carolyn was super excited when grandpa and grandma came home from a flea market with this pogo stick!  Her record is 87 consecutive jumps!

In our Homeschool This Week...
Besides cleaning up the dining room, it has been fun to look over the past year's notebooks.  The kids each did a great job in their first year with notebooking.  Here are a few pages from their history or science books...

Something New...
I am blogging outside for the first time ever today! :O) My super, wonderful husband ordered a hammock for me for Mother's Day!  Here's my view at the moment!
If he could just order a beach!

One More Pic to Share...
We have 5 litters at the moment!  2 of which are ready for adoption!

Today, I'm linking up with...
