Today marks the LAST "official" Friday of the 2012 - 2013 School Year at our house. As most of you other homeschool families know, there will be plenty of days to "sneak" in a school day over the summer break. But, regardless of the fact that the learning days never really end for a homeschool family, I think today is a great reason to celebrate! (I wonder what I will possibly do next Friday!?) :O)
In My Life This Week...
Summer has unofficially begun as my son's summer baseball league has begun. I'm glad he is the only one of our kids to play this year since he is on a traveling team. His first two games were this past week but I haven't taken my camera yet, so here's a pic that shows how little he was when he started playing! (2005)
In Our Homeschool This Week...
We had 2 doctor appointments in Fort Wayne today (Thursday) so we took advantage of "going to the big city" to celebrate the end of the school year by taking in a game of Put Put! (That really tall boy on the left is the same as the cute little one in the T-ball picture! He still has dimples though!)
After our game of Put Put we spent some time at the Botanical Conservatory's African and South American Butterfly Exhibit! It was very cool! If you live anywhere near Fort Wayne, Indiana I highly recommend it!
They loved Caleb's Face!
They loved Caleb's sweat even more! It was nearly 100 degrees in the exhibit and we were so sweaty! Look close and you can see the butterfly's tongue!
They climbed all over our pants!
A Feeding Station...nectar has to taste better than sweat!
Helpful Advice or tips to share...
Even if we were year round schoolers, we would be taking a break after next week. The clues for both teacher and student burn out are all very evident right now! If you feel the signs...attitude, attitude and more attitude, maybe it's time for a break...planned or unplanned!
My Favorite Thing
Getting an Orange Julius after playing mini golf and seeing the butterflies! (And "sneaking" one into my husband's office! The look on his face was priceless!)
Questions / Thoughts I Have...
The cute little dimpled boy in the T-ball pic is going to be a freshman next fall! Planning high school courses is exciting as well as daunting!
Too many books at once right now! Time to finish just one! (This is so unlike me! I usually don't like to overlap books, but I have one as a paper book and the rest are free Kindle books! I LOVE FREE Kindle books!)
Something new from Pinterest that was a hit at my house this past week...
Baked Creamy Chicken Taquitos!

I'm Praying For...
So many things!
*My trip to Africa...that is in less than 4 weeks! Including the pastors, children and friends we will see there!
*My Attitude. It is hard to stay in the game when I am so ready for a break from school.
*My husband. He has so much on his plate and is still being such a good husband and daddy.
Our New Favorite Game...
We found "Apples to Apples Bible Edition" at a garage sale! We LOVE it!
A Cute Picture to Share... Was 2005 really that long ago? My how they grow!
